Psychological Testing is a service provided by HCC designed to assess cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and academic functioning. Whether you’re looking to find out what’s going on with you or a loved one, or gain accommodations in school for an IEP, or for extra time on the SAT, LSAT, or a license exam, psychological testing is a prerequisite. HCC professionals will work with you or your child over a span of two to three days to provide a detailed analysis of the examinee's current functioning. At the conclusion, you will be provided with a comprehensive report to submit to your school or the testing boards.

ADHD Testing and Diagnosis:

HCC ADHD evaluation is a targeted comprehensive assessment of childhood and current symptoms, designed to diagnosis (or rule out) ADD/ADHD. The evaluation usually consists of the following tests:
  1. Initial Assessment: This is the face-to-face session in which a comprehensive history taking and thorough assessment of current symptoms take place. At this meeting, parent(s) or caregiver(s) may be given CONNERS 3 or Brown ADD Questionnaires to complete. If the child is in school, Teacher Rating Scales (TRS) may also be provided to get the complete picture of the child behavior at different settings.
  2. Intelligence & Cognitive Abilities Assessment: Depending on the age of the child WPPSI-III (less than 6) or WISC-IV  (6 or older) test  and Woodcock-Johnsohn III Cognitive Abilities Tests.
  3. At the second session, a computer assessment (Test of Variable Attention, TOVA)is given, along with other tests of memory, processing speed and executive functioning.
  4. Finally, all the data is compiled and your therapist will provide you with the results in the third session. If you do meet criteria for ADD/ADHD, different treatments options will be provided.
